WONDERING: FEELINGS, EMOTIONS AND BUILDING RESILIENCE

Wondering collects questions from young school-aged children as they learn to cope with challenging emotions and feelings, understand themselves and others, and navigate the world around them. Children often bottle their emotions, and Wondering encourages them to open up and explore what they feel. Designed to help students feel empowered when they listen to their inner voice, Wondering gives children concrete answers from their peers and teachers to challenging emotional questions.

This book is an interactive experience for children, young adolescents and their families to read and discuss together. This is a perfect gift for parents looking to help their child build emotional intelligence and guide their growing independence. Wondering also provides a wonderful opportunity for grandparents to develop a deeper understanding of their grandchildren's lives, emotional needs and concerns. This powerful book equips children with valuable tools to express themselves and seek concrete solutions to the challenges they face day by day.

Bob’s work presents 100 questions asked by roughly 90 students ranging in age from 8 to 14 and the meaningful discourse created through this process. The above gallery is a collection of artwork from students in the Writers Matter program who helped create the dialogue within the book.

REVIEWS

  • Wow, "Wondering" is a must read for your family bookshelves and student/classroom libraries. This interactive, worksheet-style book prompts and drives tough conversations, the ones you want to have with your children or students but often times don't know how to have them or where to start. We used the Q&A with our kids as prompts and then built upon the conversation using our kids' answers or the answers in the book. We learned about fears and doubts that our kids were having that we never realized were even on their radar. We would highly recommend this book as a tool to open your eyes to how your children think, feel and wonder.
